“brownie publishing” is an independent publisher, which works for promoting Hong Kong art of photography and Photobook, so that the public may come to know more outstanding local photographers. Ever since the popularization of cameras and prevalence of social networks, photography has become part of Hong Kong people’s life. Photography as artistic creation, however, seems somewhat remote. We aim at exploring more creative possibilities of ourselves, our environment, and humanities through the medium of photography.
Case Publishing is a Tokyo based publisher founded in 2015. We focus on artistic culture which consists of contemporary art, photography and design.

Le Plac'Art Photo
Le Plac’Art Photo is an independent bookshop for rare and second-hand photobooks as well as selected new photobooks, with a particular emphasis on Japanese photography. The bookshop works closely with independent publishers and promotes self-published photobooks, most of which are limited editions. Le Plac’Art Photo also organises exhibitions and book launches and issues thematic catalogs (“Night”, “Revolt”, “Appropriation” and most recently, photobooks dealing with the Japanese island of Okinawa).

Photography Is Art 攝影是藝術
Established in 2018, Photography is Art (PIA) is the only photography-oriented monthly magazine in Hong Kong, as well as the first ever bilingually published photo magazine in the world. “Photography is Art” is more than just a statement, we are committed to explore and focus on photography with different themes and genres throughout the world, to arouse the attention and broaden the vision of our readers, and to integrate photography as a form of high art on a global level. Each issue has unique theme with features such as in-depth interview with internationally renowned photographer, hot topics of the industry, the behind-the-scene stories of art collectors and celebrities on their photographic artwork collection, and open call for young talents. All these elements together compose a brand-new form of photo magazine which no one has ever experienced.
shashasha started in 2013 with the aim of delivering Asian photography to a worldwide audience. With a selection of over 1200 titles, including artist prints and vintage photobooks, shashasha’s diverse artist line-up ranges from rare titles by photography icons such as Nobuyoshi Araki, Daido Moriyama, Kazuo Kitai, Keizo Kitajima and Takashi Hamaguchi to works by vibrant newcomers. In Fall 2016, we began to widen our selection to include publications by selected photobook publishers from all over the world.

Three Shadows Press Ltd was registered in Hong Kong, China in 2007. We mainly cooperate with Three Shadows Photography Art Center to publish exhibition catalogues and photography books for their exhibitions. We have published nearly 30 books up until now. Our latest publications: “The Chinese Photobook Collection: Luo Bonian”, “The Chinese Photobook Collection: Yang Fudong”, “Chinese Photography: Twentieth Century and Beyond”, ”Immeasurable: The 2016 Three Shadows Photography Award Exhibition”, and “2016 Jimei x Arles International Photo Festival”.
TOSEI SHA 冬青社
TOSEI SHA was founded in 1984. Under the concept of “delivering photography books as bouquets of art to the world”, we publish photography books made exquisitely, to the extent of blending original inks at times. We actively produce publications for renowned photographers such as Hiromi Tsuchida and Issei Suda as well as emerging photographers. From 2005, we have also opened a commercial gallery in Nakano, Tokyo, aiming to introduce one Japanese photographer per month by exhibiting and selling their works.
Founded in 2010, twelvebooks is a Japan-based distributor which works with international independent publishers to distribute and promote publications on contemporary photography. With respect to each publisher's individuality, concept and passion, twelvebooks helps to market the publications in Japan and throughout the rest of Asia. twelvebooks is committee member of Fine-Art Photography Association (FAPA) and The Tokyo Art Book Fair.
Zen Foto Gallery
Zen Foto Gallery was established by Mark Pearson in September 2009 in Tokyo, specializing in Asian photography with a particular emphasis on Japan and China. Our aims are to show interesting exhibitions, to be experimental, to provide stimulating works that would otherwise be rarely seen and to introduce innovative young photographers. Along with most exhibitions, we publish limited edition photography books. In all we hope to provide a forum for greater appreciation of contemporary and historical works of Asian photography.

Foto-Féminas is a platform established by Verónica Sanchis Bencomo who is interested in promoting through monthly online features the works of female photographers working in Latin America and the Caribbean. The photo book is the ultimate result of many photographic projects and the Foto Féminas' library - named after the late Guatemalan photojournalistwas created to continue our mission to celebrate and archive the works of female Latin American photographers.

Chan Wai Kwong 陳偉江
Chan Wai Kwong is born in Hong Kong and quitted school when he was in grade 7, 1988-89. He has already self-published 22 photobooks and held 10 solo exhibitions since 2010.
Nai Wen Hsu 許乃文
Born in 1991, Taiwan, NaiWen still hasn’t figured out a term of describing herself... She is a freelancer and teaches in university, currently based in Taiwan. With her former sociology background, she graduated from MA Photography and Urban Culture, Goldsmiths, University of London. Her photograph works have been exhibited in Kaohsiung, Taipei and London.
Agnes Ku 谷淑美
Agnes Ku is a sociologist and emerging artist in Hong Kong. She held two solo photo exhibitions and published her debut photo book in 2017. Her book, Where Time Turns Black, which traverses photography, writing and sociology, has been awarded Honorable Mention (Book / Fine Art) by the International Photography Awards 2017 in the United States. “Entering into her elderly mother’s lost memory space, returning to the old district where she spent her childhood, the author looks around in the city and contemplates time, memory, and existence ... Blackness ─ a feeling of mysterious suspense, hovers between the individual and the collective, between remembering and forgetting, and between the past and the present.”
谷淑美生於香港，於大學任教社會學，業餘從事攝影創作。舉辦過個人展覽及出版攝影文集，透過影像、寫作及社會學思考，探索跨領域創作。 其《流光.時黑》榮獲美國2017年度國際攝影大獎的優異獎（書/藝術類）。「墮進年邁母親所遺失的記憶空間內，重返孩童時曾生活的舊區，作者環顧城市四周，誘發她對時間、記憶與存在的沉思冥想……黑色，一份神秘的懸念，盤旋於個人與集體、 記憶與遺忘、過去與現在之間。」
chow san 周生
Chow san simply loves photography - he carries a camera with him everyday with fascination to record the "landscapes" of absurdity in the streets of Hong Kong with film. Recently, he has successfully raised a crowdfunding to launch his debut photobook "Trip" which includes works taken in the past 8 years. He also exhibited 12 works from the series at kubrick bookshop cafe earlier this year.
Art school student born and raised in Hong Kong, loves street photography and started shooting film since 2016.
Wong Kan Tai 黄勤帶
Kan Tai Wong was born on Lantau, Hong Kong in 1957. He joined the Hong Kong Press in the late 1970s and started a long career as a photojournalist. He studied photography in the Tokyo Institute of Polytechnics. His photographic collections published include '89 Tiananmen, Hong Kong Walled City 2002 - 2007, Vajrayana and The Queen's. In the Hong Kong Photo Book Fair 2018, Wong will launch his new photo book entitled "fukushima", a colour Polaroid book.
